Climbing the back of The Rock, late afternoon. Something of a race to get down before dark. Europa Point lighthouse and across the straits to Morocco. Considered a crop of some of the height of the rock (to make the image almost square). This is the whole frame.
Thanks Macfred. It’s a bit alien to me to turn a 6x7 camera to portrait orientation. Usually it’s about having a wide horizon. Here it’s about the dominance of The Rock. It looks a long way down -it is but it was still a long way to go to the summit.
That is an incredible view, well done. I was there two years ago and you captured that sense of scale of the Gibraltar rock face perfectly.
That and your photo of the Barbary Macaques make me want to go back both to Gibraltar and Morocco.
@sharpnikkor Thank you. It was lovely up there. All the wild narcissi are out and there is a delightful scent in the air. I also saw a pair of Barbary Partridge but they would not stay still long enough to be photographed.
