Ladner Creek Trestle

Ladner Creek Trestle

Wonderful trestle over Ladner Creek. The line was abandoned in '59. It was just too expensive for CPR to maintain. This stretch of the Kettle Valley line runs through the Coquihalla, which can get a tremendous amount of snow, was prone to slides. A big slide is what did it in.

I'm impressed you brought an 8x10 in there! Did you access this vantage point by the small road at the bottom of the canyon, or from hiking down from the bridge? I've only been there by walking along the railbed and to the bridge by going over the collapsed tunnel.
