Mid summer in the beautiful Red Deer River Valley. The light is always special on the prairies. I printed this on Arches Platine. This is from the defective batch, and I mainly use it for carbon printing... but I figured out a way to make it work without black spotting. Shortened developing time.
Thanks, Eric. Well, I drove up the south side on 848, and found a little dirt road off to the left and parked. Then walked about100 metres or so. Excellent view from there!
@dasBlute I shot this at around 2pm. The wonderful play of light was due to big, dark, rain clouds. Thank you! @pentaxpete This area is about an 18 hour drive east my house. Car was fine, thanks. I had to spend time picking cactus from the cuff of my pants though, when I got back. Do unattended cars go missing in Essex? @NedL Thanks, Ned! It's about 15x6. Of course the top and bottom of the image was cropped off in PS. @bsdunek thank you.
@pentaxpete plenty of cars go missing in Vancouver and the burbs. Since the bate car program was instated several years ago, it's made significant improvements. When I was in Japan in '05, a woman and guy with kids, broke into our house, stole everything, including all of my photography gear. They then carted it all away in both of our vehicles. When the vehicles were recovered, one of them had Sesame Street character stickers stuck all over the passenger window. Ashtray full of lipstick stained cigs. There was also stolen gear in the boot...not mine, though. Imagine being that little kid and this is what your folks do for a living. I just he/she didn't follow in their foot steps.
Our vehicles are way safer out in the sticks! Cheers!
