I built this 8x10 field camera a few years ago. Happy I took the courage to start this project, I guess that's the hardest part. I took me so much longer that I anticipated, after you spend hours working on it, you want the camera work well. And it does indeed works very well. Would I do it again? Probably not. I found that it took a lot of energy from me, which could be spent creatively shooting outdoors. Anyway, it could be very addictive :-)
Good looking camera. Having built a fairly simple fixed focus 4x5 I can understand at least some of what it takes to finish a project such as this. Good photo of your camera as well.
Nice job. I love woodworking and often wondered if I should try my hand at this but I decided that people such as Keith Canham can do it better so I will stick to making furniture instead. I certainly admire your accomplishment.
