A trail at Tibet-Butler Nature Preserve. A swarm of yellow flies tried to kill me for taking this shot! Some front tilt really made this shot, I think.
Since you are in the critique gallery I will give my two bits. If it were me I would burn down the foreground considerably. Plus burns on both sides to make the lit portion in the middle look more tunnel like. Just my opinion and not worth navel dust.
You have found an interesting composition and you just need to wait until someone/s or something comes along to make it more interesting. Wait and be patient.
I agree with Eric- overall too bright. I'd be careful with making the "tunnel-like" quality too obvious though. Think more aerial perspective and less "tunnel". If you are familiar with the idea, this would be a good candidate for split-grade printing. Do a base exposure pretty much as you have it here, then a second, (substantially) shorter exposure at grade 5. And maybe a second short exposure at Grade 0 to cool down those highlights a tad. Not sure about the last one, as we are talking about viewing this on a computer monitor, and not the real thing.
Thank you for the notes! I think that a split-grade print would do this some justice. I didn't think to make it so dark, because thats just not how I saw the scene originally, but I can see the beauty of that now. I love other perspectives!
