Nice picture. The fur looks a little fuzzy and yet the eyes of the mother are clearer than I would have expected from the look of the fur.

Yes, I find long lenses very challenging. The depth of field is extremely shallow with the lens wide open. It was wide open to try to get a fast enough shutter speed. This is January so although it looks bright the light is weak. I try to use the rule 1/focal length minimum shutter speed for hand held

Nice one, Svenedin - and good to see your work again. From the thumbnail, you could have said it was a Tibetan Monk on the mountain - then I saw the baby. 'Very handsome shot. 'Hope you had a wonderful time getting it.

Yes I spent the whole day up on The Rock and took a packed lunch. These shots take some patience but I will have another go next time and see if my focusing skills are better. There is actually very little time to get these shots right. Wild animals do not pose! One trick is to anticipate where the animal will be and focus there already but this does not always work and depth of field can be very narrow depending on lens, how wide open it is and distance to subject etc. A tripod might have helped but not necessarily as they can actually slow things down if a rapid move is needed. A faster film would have been better.
