Bizarre! Looks like the stones "beggars banquet", with out the bog. Where is it, odd place to have such enthusiastic graffiti.
I like D76 straight, it brings out strong tones.
Thanks for the kind words, all! I've photographed this spot a few times and the results from P30 seemed to really capture the grit, more so than with other films I've used. It's a secluded spot in Balboa Park between some museum buildings, where I think the homeless often sleep. This is a scan of the neg, but I've also done some straight test prints at grade #2 which look almost identical. Really nice range of tones with this Ferrania film, deep blacks without having to bump up the contrast too much.
In a discussion on P30 I was surprised by the example of a house drawing on a sign how insensitive to red this film was. Can I ask if any of the colours here are red and if not what the colours are?
Not much color in this scene, to speak of. The wall is an off-white/tan stucco, the railing and the cast-iron pipes are black, one copper pipe and the others are galvanized metal or aluminum. I've shot this with Tri-X and TMax before, but had to print those at a higher contrast to get a look similar to this one on P30. This spot is in open shade between 2 buildings.
