'Pop' my Grandad !

I have scanned some old family photos -- here is one I took in about 1954 of 'Pop' -- he was a great character! We used to stand outside the Air-Raid Shelter watching Germans v British in the sky until we got 'told off' by my Mum. It is only a part of a larger Print I did.He was in WW1.

I bought a 12/20 (6x6) a few years ago - unfortunately bellows were holey - tried to fix but I failed - gave it away to another tinkerer.
I can remember the Ross Xpres 75mm f/3.5 as a Tessar design with good image quality.

And people always ask me why do you take so many pictures, kids, family gatherings, etc., etc.? Your shot is exactly why! You can read a letter from your "Pop" or "Great Grandmother" or somebody can tell you something about them, but there is still absolutely no substitute for "flesh and blood" visual picture to go along with that story or letter. I still look at my "Pop's" picture and try to guess what he was like in real life since he passed just before I was born. Now my "Pa" is gone and all I have are my pictures and memories, but at least I got to know him extremely well. That picture has no price tag.

Thanks for your kind comments Folks . I have an Ensign Selfix 12/20 and all good with the bellows BUT trouble with Epsilon shutter so do not use it much.

Great! Old family photographs are a great treasure. Quite a character, but they all were in those photos somehow:smile:

Magnificent, Peter.

Excellent portrait! You really did bring out the life inside of him.

Love that shot! Wish I had one with/of my own Poppa.
