It ain't WW11 Pete, the M60 7.62 mm machine gun didn't come into service with the U.S. military until 1956.
 
'Didn't know the date, but good catch, Ben. Not to mention what happens when ejection port is covered. I'm sure representation would be required, without a large budget & that's rarely the case. Handsome representation well captured.
