I like the effect but maybe the textured effect would be benefit if it was slightly less pronounced.

I also like the textured effect. What exactly is a texture screen and how is it used.

A texture screen (usually 8x10") is placed on the paper and exposure was made through it at various times. This particular screen is made of clear plastic with small black lines in it. These were quite the rage many, many years ago. It really depends on what you think is enough. Sometimes less is more and so on. This one was exposed somewhere around three seconds of a 12 second total exposure. Of course with software like Photoshop this is all done with a click.
