Little country chapel and cemetery out in the country not far from home. I've got 5 generations of my family buried there. Wonderfully peaceful place, lots of family memories and history.
Taken a few minutes after sunrise, I was attempting to get a strong shadow pattern on the front walls.
5 gens. *That* would give a real sense of place and belonging. Bravo for getting the image well done. 'Likely a candidate for extended family gift/distribution.
The actual print looks better than the scan, I made several copies and gave one each to my dad and uncle over the weekend, Dad just turned 80, uncle is 84, they sat for over an hour discussing decades of goings on at the chapel, when they and their dad built the picnic shelter in the background, who was buried where. That sort of thing.
Nice picture. I like the tree in the background to the left.
Sepia might help bring out the tree shadows.
My prints never seem to scan well. .....thats my excuse anyhow; )
Excellent subject caught in nice light......thanks for sharing the story about the time spent with your dad & uncle. Glad to hear they could share some nice recall about the site too.
