Mermaid's purse? (manta ray egg sack) I've only seen photos.

I've found egg cases from a couple of different ray species, but never any with those cool long threads on them. How did they survive wave action? (I'm assuming it was a beach find.) Very cool photo.

Yes it is a ray or shark egg case.

The threads normally wrap around kelp or sea weed. That's where my kids found it.. in some washed up seaweed. It was already dried out.
I'm trying to start a series on stuff we have found on our travels.
