A poster child for 'studiously unaware'! One does wonder what has her attention, given the probable antics of the photographer Do you need all the background to tell the story?

She was ignoring me the whole time I was there unless I tried to steal her grapes. Didn't need all of the background but was worried about getting closer. What would have you done different?

She has such a strong gaze out of frame, that more space on that side and less on the right might have made for a more traditional portrait. For family, this may be very revealing of a known character trait?

Knowing the circumstances explains the look, but without that I really want to know what is out of frame on the left.

I see what you are getting at. Out of frame to the left is a tv. Knowing that should I have shifted left. Alternatively, could I have gone full frame with just the face.

I like it as it is. The extra space to the right and above accentuate her pose.
