From my Coal Mining Series. Taken inside one of the work sheds at Manda coal mine. I shot this with a Kenko diffuser filter on the lens. I had one of those filter kits with various diffusers and even one that would turn specular highlights into crosses!
Still getting my head around the whys of why these images appeal so much. 'Something about the dignity/romance/passion that goes into the ordinary - sometimes just by necessity. I seem to have fondness for the 'common touch' & dignity of work. 'Harder to encapsulate that feel in video, but its not unlike watching your vid on carbon transfer. The honorable Mr. Galli's work encapsulate a time/place (incredibly). These encapsulate the labor/skill of other times. I like it alot.
