The canal falls is nice, but this is even better. 'Looks like it could be in rural Europe - very handsome.

Even though I am not that far, physically, I have never been to this peaceful place (because I do not own a car). This is near New Hope, PA.

The swan is perfectly placed and I have to admit that the low contrast, even though 'wrong' in an absolute sense. adds to the level of tranquility. I like this. - David Lyga

I take it that RR is railroad. It's railway in the U.K but there is a similarity in terms of the look of stations. A tranquil rural scene that is emphasised by the swan. In fact too tranquil for Pierce, Colby and Miller to ever have been waiting for the train.:D

Looks like a nice place to take the kids for an afternoon

Thanks for the comments! Yes RR=railroad although there has been some use of 'railway' here in the colonies. Interesting the comments about "rural" -- while it is a small town (pop. ~3900), there are blocks with many townhouses plus some larger single homes. And between that station building and the house visible in the background is Bridge Street, the main east-west street which is lined with shops, small hotels and churches. It was a working class sort of place a hundred+ years back, but is touristy and a bit upscale these days. (As in metered parking at $0.75 per hour along the main streets.)
Toward the left there were railroad shops in the mid-1800s where the Lambertville Railroad even built some locomotives, according to an info sign. That has now been blended into some recreational facilities involving the former railroad right-of-way and the canal towpath which is now a multi-use trail along the Delaware River and then eastward into central New Jersey. The day's photo collection, such as it was, may be seen online. I'm not sure there's any obvious award winners, but all in all I'd call it a successful outing.
Low contrast is a consequence of a rather cloudy -- not to mention freaking cold  -- day.

I like the feel of this shot, the swan is a nice addition. I have eaten in the old RR station a few times over the past 10 years - thought they did a nice job, especially with a "coconut bread" - didn't get a chance to go out along the canal trail, looks like it would be a nice hike.

I had to laugh: "a bit upscale these days. (As in metered parking at $0.75 per hour along the main streets.:

Do you have any idea how expensive it is to park on the street in Center City, Philadelphia????

The train is long gone: that area is almost (but not quite) in accessible to public transport. But its proximity to both New York and Philadelphia makes that real estate potent and upscale. - David Lyga

@David Lyga Do you have any idea how expensive it is to park on the street in Center City, Philadelphia???? Unfortunately yes, but for a small town forty or fifty miles from a big city, it seems high. Near me, Phoenixville is higher, but also closer in to the Philly metro area. I suspect a significant percentage of the revenue from such meters gets eaten by the cost of the equipment, installation, and servicing them. But in any older town there is generally woefully little parking for people who live there, let alone visitors, so I suppose charging helps ration it out a bit. Fortunately for the Big Photo Day, Lambertville parking is free on Sunday until 1:00 PM and I was in my car trying to get warm before then!
