St Joseph's

From my First Nations church series. I drove past it last month to check on her. Sadly the cross has fallen.

Wow - looks about as wide as the cars parked beside it! I love the addition of the moon in the composition - makes it much more interesting.

A bit haunting w/ the appearance of age, front wall shadow & the moon. Throw in the muddy tire tracks & it could adorn a good mystery story.

Are the vehicles parked for the service or is it just an adjacent junk lot? There is an interesting native church out by the residential school near Cranbrook. Alas it is in disrepair as well.

@mooseontheloose everything was happening rather quickly. Sun light fading, moon moving. I thought I was going to lose one or the other... or both!

@HiHoSilver yes, it's a bit haunting. My mother said the same thing! I do like the triangle between the door, the cross, and the moon. Helps move my eyes around the image.

@awty yes the old church does lean.. very happy the cross leaned the other way! Alas, the cross is gone now! It wouldn't be the same photograph without it.

@Eric Rose it's a junk lot. If you could tell me more about that little church near Cranbrook (offline) I'd be really happy.

Thanks, everyone!
