Sometimes, lack of tonality can actually ADD to the aesthetic. Here, it surely does and I embrace this photo. Less tells more here and the 'excess' contrast is welcomed as adding towards 'reading into' the image.

'Subject, composition, method results - superb. Its a composition that could be done many ways & each would be good. On my monitor, there's a light cast of sepia, which adds to the impression of a historic shot.
