'Didn't comment first time around on this, but I like it. Having seen the steering mechanism on the old steam tractors gives me more respect for the same on the soapbox derby racers. 'Hope you post alot of these - I'll look at every one - prob. more than once.

Aye, Olde Rust, love it. This sort of shot brings us back to when these things were almost purely designed for function, and many were quite creative in design. (Unlike my recent garden tractor that has made routine maintenance exceedingly tedious by encapsulating the guts in "sexy" sheet metal for marketing purposes.)
