The wall is to the still operating steam powered saw mill shown in the first shot. Its a familiar composition I wanted to do. Without the texture, it wouldn't work at all for me.
You really have an eye for good composure, this one really pulls the eye up and over to the sweet spot.... Also how about that precision dove tailing in that antique saw blade!
Many Thx, Snowball. I also noticed how it was made to have a replaceable ring of cutting teeth. The little I learned, contracting for a blade mfr was an eye-opener on how tight tolerances were for circ. blades. Only now are they automating testing & correction of runout, dimples & dings in the side of the blade. On the log lathes - that peel slices from a cut tree to make plywood sheets, every .003" of control on the cutting knife translated to $30k in savings/yr. It was a hoot to get to see some of the monster machines & then get to see the old ones. I'm waiting for cooler fall weather to catch some color at the oldest working flour mill in the NW - powered by water wheel.
