LOVE painted walls, great photograph !

its funny for me that the thumbnail looked plain & the detail fills it out w/ quite a bit of interesting elements. Tones/textures are excellent - no surprse. Seeing that it was sunny 16 is just humbling. I'd be thrilled if my metered shots were always this good. Brickwork always interests me - either from ingenious design or embellishment like faded paint. 'Makes me want to see more.

HiHo, i think the scene made itself good, as long as i didn't screw up in the taking. And, the texture and detail is not even legible in this meager 850x_ sized jpg. You should see the negative!. The remnants of fixtures coming out of the brick, and the surface of the brick is just fantastic with that 105mm lens on the C330. I am having fun with the camera, though still trying to get used to operating it with more repeatable success. Coupled with being on the street, it has been a bit of a change from my usual slow-paced LF efforts.

There are a few of these old painted ads in Berkeley. Mostly on older brick buildings - in California they seem to replace newer buildings rather than re-paint them!

The new and old contrast is nice; there is a sense of the flow of time.

Graham, snatch-em up before it can't be done! I am glad that in some of the tenants/owners are preserving some of the remnants of the neighborhood. See @TheFlyingCamera of the Granville Bar, a block or two away, which is what was done with a place where medicine was practiced. Whereas, across the street in a couple of the blocks, something was torn down and new, big box discount seller brick and mortar places are going up....

Very nice tone.. definitely made me take a second look
