It's interesting to see the whole assembly. My father worked for Allison as a metallurgist. He would occasionally show us samples of a single blade (a portion, actually) polished and mounted for electron microscope examination.

Cool image! And, to appreciate the heat and rpm and thrust these things produce staggers my mind. The metal in the fan blades is titanium?

Thanks all for the kind comments. I was lucky for come upon these turbines in a setting the allowed this composition. I was also my first roll of PanF. A new to me emulsion that shows promise.
