One (spectacular) image added in 2 days. Its killing me. Since rmann's killer shot of the steam engine, some heavy metal of the locomotive variety seems in order.
Bar codes on freight train rails! Like one just pulls a couple off the shelf at Tractor Supply Company and throws them in an 80ft cart! Nice one, HiHo. As you appropriately classified this as "heavy metal" just one of these puppys weighs nearly one ton. Imagine the stack is pretty impressive to look at in a yard.
Cash & carry, grab n go. The various tones of red rust can be interesting. They had castings of the switch/merge sections of track but I wasn't able to put them together well. 'Just been anxious for some more . I hope the absence has been 'cause all the negs are drying. I'm sitting on 4 cameras, all w/ partially completed rolls (again). The whole day, yest, was torching the last 1/3 of a slash pile from logging. 'Been wet. Its a bit like Cheech & Chong's bit about smoking concrete - takes you 3 hrs to get it lit, but once you do...
Wow - looks like they will put bar codes on anything - and I also love heavy metal, my better half suggests that my camera just has a large magnet in it.
Ha! rmann - We're all glad it does! I'm a bit lucky, having a spouse that loves custom blades, swoons over rusted metal & industrial perspectives. She also helps me dress out venison, stacks firewood & has zero impatience for my photo fetish (Christmas present from her was a Retina). The closest it gets is asking if I'm taking the 'blad - in which case she grabs her kindle so she can read while I obsess over something. She gets alot of slack for her obsessions - mostly making jewelry - carving, casting, etc.
HiHo was "caboose" the word you were looking for???
Schwinn, nearly two tons i meant to type above, lost track of confusing truck nomenclature 3500 ==> one ton never made sense to me. One rail...
rmann glad you have that magnet as well in at least one camera. But even your non-ferrous cameras take exquisite stuff.
HiHo my wife does understand, but not so eager to go along. It makes here happy when i bring a nice photo back, until another honey-do (all legitimate i assure you) doesn't get done. I do envy you having opportunity to get out and shoot so much and appreciate you putting up here.
Yes, I believe that's the word. At least as long as I'm out of arm's reach.
Real hist.- back when budget existed, I shopped for a Harley. The lovely bride throws a leg over one on the end of a long row, musters all strength and yanks it upright. Make that a bit further than upright & she's straining w/ a panicked look on her face to keep it from falling over the other way - into the row of costly chrome. Seeing my net worth change its leading sign, I dash to help stabilize. She looks at me and says: does this Harley make my butt look big? 'Wish I had her eye for composition.
