Interesting.
At first glance, the weathering on this statue appears to be distracting but in reality, it's the weathering that makes me study this picture closely rather than 'glance-'n-go'

For my eyes the colours are looking very accurate and natural -
I did a b/w-conversion too, but the coloured one is still my fav.

The mono is nice, but I agree that the color is stronger. For me - more in the additional tone & texture in the stone than the presence of colored foliage.
