the famous 1728 Ironbridge over the River Severn is in the news as it has bad corrosion and will cost over £ 2 million British pounds !! I organised a trip there many years ago for Camera Club members and we did 'night Photography'

I learned about this at school it was the worlds first iron bridge, this is a world heritage site it was built by Abraham Derby in 1728
 
This is a cool photo, but I'm curious, don't the Roman numerals on the sign add up to 1779? Or have I forgotten my numerology?
 
Yes -- the actual IRON part was finished in 1779 but not open for traffic until 1781 -- I found it on Wikipedia -- and I did LATIN at school too !
