An Arluk (Neckie) girl. A fitting steed for paddling God's country. 'Haven'nt wetted a paddle there since the late 80s. For those non-paddlers, Sly lives in the Mecca for sea kayaking, probably equalled only by SE Alaska - which she's not that far from. I'm not sure even a photo can convey the beauty, grandeur. I only did the Gulf Islands once (Canada side eh?). Ferry rides to get around were more costly, so I stuck to the San Juans (US side) from there. The shot of the orcas from the water - posted a while back was on the west coast of San Juan Island - as was the shot of the lime kiln lighthouse.
I remember your orca shot. Impressive. I've only done a bit of paddling in the local waters. Only close encounter was with a young seal who came up next to my kayak. Momma came up beside the youngster and wrapped him on the head. Repeated on the other side of the kayak. Junior gave up after 2nd thumping. Good for a laugh, but no pictures. Chronic shoulder issues from carting LF equipment around probably preclude any more paddling for me.
