Statue of a guardian angel

This statue is in front of a church is south Iceland. It honors a 500 years old legend about a woman who appeared in front of a boat in dire straits about to be sunk by violent waves. The woman led the boat to a safe landing on the shore, and then disappeared.

I like the lighter full length of the statue against the dark and forbidding sky and background , it really repeats the legend of the Guardian Angel. Nice tone also.
