There are some really interesting cliffs by the town of Ashcroft, British Columbia, with the Thompson River running through. Set the camera up just before nightfall, open the shutter, then crawl into sleeping bag. Wake up just before the crack of dawn, stumble over and close the shutter... then go eat breakfast. The whole time wondering if you got anything!
Wonderful ! Your night seems to have been pretty dry, and the sky very dark ! A very great photograph. Here I probably cannot do even more than a one or two hours exposure length without finding blured stars on films, and LF camera ruined by the dew...
Thanks, everyone! Raphael, it's very dry in that part of British Columbia. I had a lot of difficulty in Japan, during summer taking such photos in the coal mines. Quite often I would end up with dew on the lens, too. Winter was better. I posted a successful one in my gallery... There is a lot of light pollution in Japan, so it was very difficult to get star trail shots...
