Ron I think that your exposure lets you down in this shot. To my eyes your photo is too dark except for the burnt out area in the sky which is grossly overexposed. I also feel that the runner should be on the RHS of the picture running into it unlike at the moment where she is about to run out of the frame. But then again maybe this is what you exactly planned in taking the shot and I'm missing the point.
Thanks for your comment, Vincent!This shot was taken at sunset, the sun is right in the center of the photo, the burnt out area in the sky. So it's 100% backlight. I find it actually quite amazing that the film can handle this huge contrast, showing the clouds in the sky but also still showing details in the dark trees.Now, this is a scan from the negative; I'm still working on the print, which is extremely difficult due to the very high contrast.As for the position of the runner.... I have several shots taken at this place, and I actually like this one; the runner entering the photo would indeed be more "logical" but the runner running out of the photo makes it more intriguing to me.
