Thanks Bethe and (the other) Ken. This was a found subject in a rural field near my home. The flag was a leftover remnant from an earlier Fourth of July fireworks celebration. I repeatedly saw this scene as I drove past every weekday morning and eventually returned early one Sunday. A neighbor lady across the road eyed me suspiciously the whole time as I set up, then broke down, the camera equipment.
Much has improved with New55 P/N since this image was originally made last summer. This was extremely early stuff. If you look on the right-hand vertical edge there is a lighter crescent shape at the midway point. That is part of a larger solarization artifact that I cropped out. My understanding is that both the overall general fog and the solarization issues have been mitigated in the latest production runs, although I kind of like the fog effect here.
