As you have put this on the critique gallery, may I say that I find the forms, tones and composition quite beautiful, but the outer border is a distraction and does not do the inner image any favours.

That's a fair comment. The outer edge was actually my living room floor... And it doesn't add anything so I have cropped it off and reloaded the picture. The slightly off-white border that now shows is the paper it's printed on.

I'm not a fan of borders but it would take a lot more than that to weaken this photograph....
