Love the symbolism here with the stop sign and the tree. As the tree blocks the house/shed. It's also nicely executed and the tree itself is stunning against the sky. The title itself doesn't mean much to me because I don't get that necessarily from this picture. As I mentioned in a thread or other critique, sometimes we retranslate our experience when we shoot, to the print itself, when that experience isn't really in evidence to the viewer. I think after we make the print and should re-asses whether our initial feeling, is what actually what shows up on the paper. But that's just title stuff. The picture itself is great.
Kind of a neat old tree as the main subject here. Was there a ND or Grad filter used? Just curious as the main tree looks darker then most of the upper area of the scene. Not a nit, just wondering. This came out very nice just using a mono-pod with the Bronica too. Well done.
Thank you both for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate your interest very much. Blansky. The title is an effort to suggest to a viewer that what he may be experiencing is the chill of the air. The cold and mottled sky may not be as apparent here as it is in the print. At home I call it a picture of a tree. Trail Images. No ND or Grad filter used. I know what you are referring to and saw it that way when I made the picture. I believe it is simply shadow from the branches above.
