I love this photo. For me, religious iconography in cemeteries always conveys a sense of peace, strength, and longing, and you have captured this very well.
 
I also notice the passion/quality of art in general in the cemeteries. The prose, sculpture. There's something clarifying that happens when facing our mortality or that of others. (no atheists in a foxhole and the like) It neccessarily foregrounds deepest values. It applies to the religious or the atheist. One of my shots is deeply under my skin to reshoot w/ better light & larger format. Here, the sculture is beautiful. The light gives drama but softly - which is interesting. First glance is pleasing. I find my eyes drawn to the facial expression - intent on the reading. It seems like alot of thought went into it - and was well rewarded.
 
Thanks, Doc & HiHO, for the appreciative comments. I suppose its a problem with taking pictures of artwork. The artist is the sculptor. I merely waited for good light.
