Wow, this just works so well, from the dark negative space to the two stark overhanging trees. It all gives a sense of neglect and foreboding, look great as a small print framed with a big white mat.
Agree with Tony on this one as well. However the railway station means nothing because it's not conveyed in the picture to the viewer. Personally I prefer titles to indicate a mood or a feeling and not a travelogue because this type of photography is not a documentary as much as an art. As photographers we need to define in our heads what we are. Are we fine art photographers or are we documentary travelogue photographers. Because if we are fine art photographers then the picture should speak for itself. If we are travel photographers and we go about documenting places, the work moves to a different head space and relies on other things than the picture for it's merit or gravitas or lack thereof. For me I saw this picture before I read the title and the emotion dropped a lot when I realized it was not a house/home. Just an opinion.
