That's lovely, the contrast between the large light foreground and the stark trees is terrific. The absence of any real detail gives the trees an extra impact and makes them the main point of the photo.
I agree with what Vincent has said. The contrast is made even more stark because as another N. European I had only expected this colour of grass to exist in a time of full leafed trees and even to be taken with IR film
Thank you for your comments ! I don't think that this part of the Kalahari sees much green ever. The baobabs are decidous, but even when they have leaves they don't look lush. And these particular trees sit ar the edge of a desert salt pan. From the pan side the trees look as if growing in snow.
