Love how the model is placed and using her tattoo as a expression in the photograph is very cool. the shadows are very well controlled without and burnout or muddy blacks to distract you in the shot. great job as usual with your nudes.

I've come back to this a few times. I like the nude and the shot and how you handled it, but what seems off to me is her tattoo which has nothing to do with you per se. It seems a bit of a strange saying to have tattooed so it may have had something to do with a bad time growing up. I guess my point is, if you still have access to the model, and to make the whole thing more interesting and profound is to have her posed in an old house, on an old street, or something which can relate back to the tattoo in a more related sense. But the picture is nicely done.

Thank you for the comments and insight. You are correct, the tattoo has nothing to do with me. Then again, it's not my tattoo. I shoot ink and other body modifications often. I'm intrigued by them, possibly in part because I have none of my own. Sometimes I ask models the significance of the body art, sometimes I don't. Rarely do I attempt to place the tattoo in a particular context either for myself or the viewer; it's just another facet of the person I'm trying to photograph. This was my first shoot with Bloom; I hope there are many more.
