Brings back some fond memories from a trip our family took in 1960 to this locale. We went in August so we could appreciate the heat........UGH!............. I like this view from the site with this long pathway between the opposing cells.
Nicely done with the timing and lighting, diagonals and vanishing point. I'm torn on the open door, but you probably didn't have the option to close it. I feel if it was closed the picture would be a lot more stifling and confining. When we see an opening, a highlight in the distance it adds motion and a way out. Since it's a prison the walkway gives us the motion, but a closed door would have just given us confinement and hopelessness. On the other hand the open door makes the picture probably flow better, the light at the end of the tunnel type of thing. But either way it's still a really well handled picture and a daunting place.
