The Ilford Town Hall in Essex ( England) was the venue for lots of wacky 'Trad Jazz' events in early 1960's and I used to go and send photos to the local newspapers and got £ 1-00 a photo ! Mind you - I could get a lot of Petrol for my Austin A35 for £ 1-50 !!
The strange thing is that for no logical reason and nothing I could defend, I am convinced that none of your jazz pics would look "right" in colour, Pete.
Yes, I like all the jazz photos you posted, the gal in the mortar board and robe reminded me of Kay Kaiser--the Professor of swing and the 'scare crow' reminded me of his pal, Ish
Thanks to all my Viewers -- well, they all had a great time then with NO NEED FOR DRUGS to get 'Uninhibited' -- look at their 'Fresh Faces' compared to the 'haggard look' of some of today's young people !! These will all be Grand Parents now ( like ME ! )
