This is a fellow photographer and her three gorgeous daughters. I have known her since I mentored her about a decade ago, just after she lost her husband in 9/11. They've been through a lot and they're so strong and serene.
It was a very dark and overcast day in NJ. Not much light, but what we did have was lovely.
Cheryl:The expressions are wonderful. But what really gets me about this and the others you have posted today are the hands and feet. You do great work with hands and feet! And generally with people who are not professional models.
Thanks for the comments. Matt, yeah, I am very picky about hands and feet, especially hands. A clumsy handy can destroy a portrait and add the appearance of a lot of extra body weight. I tend to gently educate my subjects as we go -- they come away feeling more confident about how to look their best in photographs without that aspect overshadowing the connection I work hard for. It's kind of a dance.
