Dusting off one of my old favorites. Over the years I've taken photos during many births, but the light during this labour was amazing. So often labour happens at night. This woman was strong and centered during her birth. The baby would be a teenager now.

Astonishingly beautiful, in every conceivable way. Are those Chinese characters above and to the right of her umbilucus?
 
My wife insisted on no photography during labor, so all I have are my own visual recollections of the birth of my daughter and son. This image shows labor in all its beauty and pain; I simply adore it.
