The Swiks (or Swix) was an three-masted schooner that sank in the Baltic Sea, off the island of Öland, Sweden, on 21 December 1926. Now she is resting on a rocky shore on the northern part of island.
You are most welcome to comment on my print. Thoughts on the composition, printing tecniques, etc. Don't hestitate! I want to improve by learning from others.
Love your print that covers a large tone range, great technique; the only suggestion I would make is about the framing of the subject. If the subject is the boat, it is quite far, I would have stepped a little bit closer. Not sure if you can crop and still keep the same quality of the print. Funny coincidence, I have a picture of a similar shore line (no boat wreck though) taken at the Lion's Head, Georgian Bay.
Thanks for your comment naeroscatu! I perfectly understand your point that the boat is quite far away. The reason I decided to have the subject at such a distance is that 'Swiks' is quite a popular tourist attraction and therfore frequently depicted 'close-up'. I wanted to make a 'different' shot as to differentiate from the shots mostly seen from this location. In retrospect I agree with you, moving up closer would probalby result in a more dramatic shot and a better way of framing the subject.
