RMIT Capitol Theatre

The ceiling lights of this (nearly) 90 year old Art Deco theatre have just been restored, so I took my Wista into work to make this snap.

Calling this well composed and exposed photography a 'snap' is certainly understatement...

Oh, perfect for the MSA - public spaces - would you consider entering it?

I went to the re-opening after restoration work was done to the Walter and Marion Griffin designed Capitol Theatre, but I remember it as a cinema. The ceiling lights change colour constantly as one was waiting for the show to get underway, really wonderful place. Pity about the entrance that was destroyed for development. I need to get a 65mm lens. Very nice indeed. Mick. Edit, I forgot to add, that was in the late sixties, I think.

The ceiling still changes colour Mick - the rewiring/re-lamping/dimmer upgrade works were finished a couple of days before the Melbourne International Film Festival moved in, and I can report they're using the ceiling lamps with great joy :smile:Yes, you need to get a 65mm lens. There is nothing they can't do!!
