Taken in "Walking Dunes" State Park several years ago. I'm still amazed that this tree grew in the ocean of sand that is the park, and that it has grown and thrived in this way.
Thanks for comments thus far. As to detail in the sand, it's barely perceptible in the print because it is extremely fine. The exposure, as I recall, placed a portion of tree bark in zone V. There is some texture of sand in the print, but it just won't 'pick up' in the scan.
In my opinion, you have it just right! There is a mystery to it when first viewing it. Then my eyes take an exciting trip around and through the image exploring the texture and shadow. My compliments for seeing the image then capturing it on film. Great job!
