There's a great title to be added here that sums up what we are looking at. It is sombre and nostalgic and involves the dog. Whatever it is, you know it works when people see the shot and start to tell tales about it. Sorry that that's currently the end of my contribution - for now anyway

Oh that's good. That's really good. The mangy tail and dropped (submissive? aggressive?) head against that background are like the opening lines of a novella. One you make time to read in its entirety because you just know it's going to be good. From that point on there are so many different possible interpretations it's scary.

I have to agree with the previous posters. It's really just a simply seen photograph, but it is so very compelling in it's narrative possibilities. Outstanding job.
