Very fun! Love the way the sky does become blue in the negative! Your 'camera' is a great idea, too! Reminds me of the first photograph ever made. On a side note -- hydrogen peroxide does not intensify the image -- it only speeds up the oxidation of the chemicals in the print that will naturally occur even without the Hydrogen peroxide. If you wish to intensify the image, try a very dilute solution of Potassium or Ammonium dichromate (must handle these chemicals with care as they have a higher level of toxicity than the average photo chemicals).
Vaughn, you are 100% correct... Intensification has a different technical meaning! What I meant is that I used hydrogen peroxide to deepen the blue tones, being the straight out of water cyanotype very faint! I'm working on preparing a photography workshop for preschoolers later in the Spring and I was looking for ideas to have them to experience photography without messing with chemicals in a darkroom. Cyanotype is one of the safest process I could think of. If other people ever tried something like this or have ideas please, help me finding fun and easy activities to do! Thanks!
