Yes, this one was all about line, pattern, repetition and texture. It's ALMOST abstract were it not for the recognizable nature of the thing itself.

For me there's more than just lines and patterns. There's a dark sense of foreboding. You wonder what it is. And what's inside down there. But you really don't want to descend down those steps and into the claustrophobic darkness to find out. If there was a dead body, it would be a Weegee. If there was a freak, it would be an Arbus. Or maybe it's just your restless undefined fear.

Or maybe it's just me. And I'm the one in a darker mood tonight...

I'm planning on organizing something - I'd have to edit the book down to a manageable size - I shot close to 400 frames on the trip, edited it down already to around 250, but a reasonable size book would need more editing (a LOT more) still.

Contact Frank Petronio. He's a great graphic designer etc etc. And entertaining as hell! He doesn't work for free but he's fair.
