Branches, Slippery Rock Creek

4x5 silver gelatin contact print

This is one of my favorite negatives made at my favorite place. I did not have a print that I was quite happy with so I decided to change that. I left the rocks hot but with detail, at least in the print. The bright water was burned to just off paper white... at least in the print. =)

The exposure was made in 2010 on one of those gorgeous quiet mornings where time seems to stand still.

  1. Yes
Thanks, fellows. =) I made several different versions last night before deciding to take this one to a final print. I liked the feel of it best... with the shadows opened up and the rocks a little bit hot.

The clarity of the branches and the stillness of the water make this for me a personal favourite.
