Approaching Storm

Rough weather at Whitby, Yorkshire, England. I had to hold camera steady as I had no tripod. I held a red filter over the lens. I did a 16x12" darkroom print of this and won an award at my Camera Club.

Everything in the scene surrounding the old couple has a tight, compressed look which captures the actuality.I am not surprised this won an award. Well done

Thanks to all my 'FANS ' !!! Usually I never get any awards at Club now -- cannot beat all the Digital Manipulated Group who have joined.

Perhaps, but you're fighting the good fight and will win one on occasion! Keep up the good work.

Thanks -- and taken on my favourite 'Cheap' film the East German ORWO NP22 -- O bought 50 rolls 120 before it was discontinued and still have some in freezer dated 1993 == still works ! ( Needs downrating from 125 to 80 ASA )

Great shot. I'm very familiar with Whitby, having lived there for a while. If it was me, I would have printed a bit darker, but thats just my preference. Good contrast of tones, separating the sky, sea, and sand.
