Last resting place of Halifax LL505 FD-S

I took this shot a few years ago on Great Carrs in the Coniston Fells. 7 RCAF and 1 RAF crew perished here on the night of 22nd October 1944. A memorial service is held here every so often to honour the memory of those who died. A sad place.

Thanks Digi, It was (in part) seeing your shot of the RAF grave that prompted me to post it. It always makes me sad to think of these young blokes coming to grief in this wild place.
 
Just seen this in the random images section. A little piece of the wreckage makes the crew seem almost within touching distance.
