Fantastic photograph, Doug. Really love this one a lot.

Yes not a very easy light to work with , did you have a filler light here from the right side ? also, was he one of the generation when one put a tie on even when home? it's just seem like a common kitchen scene but yet he is very proper ....

Great photo, love the lighting. He looks like the is thinking about something important and not concerned about the camera a bit. Best type of portrait in my opinion.

He reminds me of my father...

Thanks folks. Straight available light from a hanging lamp over the table. Uncle Stan was my father's brother. My Dad had died about a year before. Stan bought all his clothes and most other things at tag sales and yard sales and so forth. It may have been a Sunday and that would explain the tie. Otherwise he was an informal guy. He wasn't comfortable with me circling him in the kitchen, but I kept shooting and eventually he ignored me. I was wondering if anyone would catch my terrible burning-in on the pizza bag in the lower right corner. You can see the edge of the paper cutout I made to do the burn. I'm fairly sure that's an Etch-a-Sketch my daughter has in her hands. Miss that Brovira, and how about Kodak Medalist, "J" surface?
