First roll developed

Sorry for 5 images uploaded. But I want to share my joy over the first roll of film I developed myself today. I had stored this roll for about two years, expecting that once I will find the time to start darkroom work. I worked all fine directly from start - in a great part due to all the information available here on apug. I feel that scanning a slide is more easy than a scanning a bw negative. - I hope it will not take again two years until I start to print :-)

this one speaks to me most from the 5 you uploaded. lovely light play. all 5 look farily flat, however, and it's hard to know if that's because you waited 2 years to develop the film (a very likely culprit) or something you did/didn't do during development. looking forward to more images!

Congrats on your first roll developed!! It was a little less than a year ago that I developed my first roll! I think it took about 8 months to get to printing after that for me, lol. Hopefully your wait on that is shorter  Maybe the flatness oolalajp referred to is the scan?

Thank you all for the nice comments. Indeed it seems that trying to get all the structure visible in the shadows and highlights of the negative into the scanned image produced some flatness. I will try to get more contrast in scans of future negatives - or prints...
